Sarah A. Caroleo, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Researcher

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Annenberg Institute at Brown University.  My research concentrates on educational exclusion of students by ability and race and seeks solutions via policy, programming, and classroom instruction. In particular, I am interested in special and gifted education systems and teacher practices. I use multiple methods to explore and answer policy-relevant questions from nuanced and diverse angles. I frequently engage with district- and state-level partners to ensure my work reaches policy and practice.

Prior to doctoral studies, I served as an elementary educator and instructional coach in Nashville and Los Angeles for eight years. I hold a Ph.D. in Education from Johns Hopkins University, a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from University of Georgia, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Greenville University.
